East Coast Swing Dance Class

The B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center is hosting an East Coast Swing Class with Betty Aden, a professional dancer and native of Greenwood, MS. Ms. Aden taught dance and coached the award winning Delta Dancers at Mississippi Delta Community college in Moorhead for 36 years.

East Coast Swing is a form of social partner dance that evolved in the 1940s. This type of dancing is called different names in different regions -- Eastern Swing, Jitterbug, American Swing, and Triple Swing.

East Coast Swing is a standardized form of dance developed first for instructional purposes and then later codified for competitive ballroom dance judging. For more details on this dance form, visit http://en.wikipedia.org

Betty Aden will lead this dance course on two successive Mondays -- June 22nd and June 29th from 6 to 8 pm. Cost is $50 per person for both classes, and both couples and singles are welcome.
